Journal Title: Духовність особистості: методологія, теорія і практика - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 86
Abstract
The article substantiates the assumption made by author on the advisability to use foreign experience in the field of self-learning to ease and intensify the process of self-education competence formation by modern students in Ukraine. After analysis of the self-study peculiarities in the USA author made a conclusion on the necessity to use modern technologies to expedite the interaction between the student and professor by means of Internet and other innovative technologies. Distance learning requires fast feed-back to make study process more efficient while Internet provides the possibility to make this anywhere and anytime moreover it enables to conduct the examination a thousand times more effective. For example, on-line tests, on-line chats and on-line video chats give the professor opportunity to evaluate the student’s self-learning work on the material. Along with the forms and methods of control there is another peculiarity of modern technologies as free location of the recipient. Which allows to provide most of people all around the world with the material to work over regardless their nationality and distance to the University which carries on the distance courses. This technology blurs the boundaries for the self-learners allowing them to become the student of any university requiring only competence in self-education, Internet connection and self-motivation to study individually. Time management is that component of distance learning which is essential and integral for successful accomplishing the courses and achieving the expected results.
