The method of study carried out in the qualitative research design is the case study. The data were obtained from foreign students who learned Turkish in the language teaching centers of four different universities in spring semester 2016-2017. The study group consists of 21 students from different nations, 13 from B2 level and 8 from C1 level. Semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool and content analysis was applied to the collected data. The findings of the study, indicate that foreign students learning Turkish differ in their thoughts on the difficulty of Turkish written. However, the students agree that it is important to be able to use correct and effective Turkish in their written expressions. Foreign students have the opinion that the written expression in the native language and Turkish language that even though there are similarities, is very varied. They consider themselves the most successful “word choice” in their writing while most feel they lack the subjects “grammar” has been. The students think that they will be more successful in written expression by doing a lot of reading.25
