THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES OF EVALUATION OF TYPES OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE AGROINDUSTRIAL SECTOR

Abstract
The agro-food sector, which integrates in itself the production of agricultural products and food and its bringing to consumers is considered in the article. The development of this sector of the national economy can take place both in an evolutionary way and in a revolutionary one that changes one another. It is established that the pace of economic development of the agro-food sector is directly proportional to the increase in the volume of production of agro-food products and is inversely proportional to the increase in the land-use intensity of the production of the said products. The directions (rates) of economic development of the mentioned sector of the economy are grounded: resource-oriented, land-cost, resource insufficient, land-saving. The article proposes to evaluate the types of development of the agro-food sector through the ratio of the index of changes in volume of consumption of resources, the index of changes in volumes of agrarian land use, the index of changes in volumes of agricultural production.
