Abstract
Folk textiles in mass production In traditional folk costumes and garments which continue to be used in some European countries, the fabrics for their production are now predominantly industrially produced. Even fabrics which used to manufactured at home, on handlooms – such as various types of linen, wool, and cloth are now mass produced by the textile industry. The article discusses the evolution of fabric production from handicraft, through manufacturing, to mass production.
