Abstract
The subject of analysis is the artistic techniques of characters creation which used by Grygir Tyutyunnyk, prominent Ukrainian writer, in the story «Three laments over Stepan». The topic of research: direct and indirect visualization of characters as way of their creation. The methodology of research is traditional philological with elements of receptive poetics, which involves modeling of ex-pressive techniques of influencing the recipient. The writer perfectly used the system of methods by which recipient see the whole character with personality characteristic itself gestures and voice. The creating of art world of the story – is creating in the mind of the recipient the illusion of presence. Often in the story no characters depicted, but the reader «hear» his voice, «listen» his one phrase, «see» his gesture, and recipient in consciousness create the visual image, endowed with a character. It is about one of «se-crets» of highly artistic skills of the writer. The direct description of the character is treated as a direct way to the image. The ways of creation an image through voice playback, speech, gestures, is indirect. They are also methods of visualization images of person-age who are endowed expressive characters. The scientific novelty of the research is to develop new approaches for the study of po-etics of visualization of the characters from position of receptive poetics. These approaches can be used in the study of literary prob-lems such as «artistic detail», «poetics of visualization», «world of literary work», «principles of character creation», «psychology of character».
