TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTY EXAMINATION OF SURFACE LAYERS MODIFIED BY NANOPOWDER MATERIALS

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2009, Vol 224, Issue 2

Abstract

Nanocrystaline layered and bulk materials manufacturing technology development allows to obtain new materials, interesting from the side of application abilities. Using of non-conventional methods allows obtaining materials with structure and properties unable to be obtained by traditional methods. Reducing grain size of well-known materials allows achieving the superior physicochemical and mechanical properties. This paper contains the results of surface layers examination for certain structural parts working in harsh conditions. Manufacturing of dichalcogenide micro and nanoparticles, and the technology of the nanoparticle surface layer modification are described. The results of tribological investigations of structural components are shown as well.
