Ukraina po rewolucji godności: próba wdrożenia reform

Abstract

The paper focuses on the selected issues of transformation of for¬mal and informal institutions and their impact on policy reforms in Ukraine after the Euromaidan Revolution. After independence, Ukraine lost the chance to transform economic and political institutions twice, in 1991 and 2004. In both cases, the country failed to use the opportunity to implement systemic reforms. In 2014 Euromaidan gave hope for overcoming the defects in the system of post-communist transformation. Under the pressure of in¬ternational partners and civil society, political leaders are trying to carry out economic and administrative reforms. However, selective reforms have not yet led to a change in the very essence of the system, since political leaders are trying to preserve the functioning of the informal power pyramid and retain the main sources of power and income. The main question posed in the article is whether the political elite is ready to accelerate reform in the fight against corruption and to avoid the loss of a small achievement over the past few years. The success of Ukraine in the interests of all Western part¬ners, as the result of reforms will be crucial for the stability of Eastern Europe.
