Umbracular characterization of Anthurium andraeanum plants variety 'Lambada', obtained by somatic embryogenesis
Journal Title: Biotecnología Vegetal - Year 2007, Vol 7, Issue 2
Abstract
The objective of this study was to characterize, under greenhouse conditions, a population of 2 000 plants of Anthurium andraeanum variety ‘Lambada’ regenerated from somatic embryos and suckers. Temperatures of 29±2oC, a relative humidity of 80% and a brightness of 60-70% were maintained during the period of culture in greenhouses. Bigger values of the variables evaluated in leaves, flower and plants were shown in plants regenerated from somatic embryos. Longitude of spate in plants coming from suckers was bigger but differences were not significant among the two populations under greenhouse conditions. Plants off-type were not observed in plants obtained from somatic embryos and growth was similar to plants obtainet from suckers.

Induction and callus formation of Anthurium andraeanum variety ´Lambada ’ from foliar sections of in vitro plants
Foliar sections of in vitro plants of Anthurium andraeanum variety ‘Lambada’ were used as explants for the induction and formation of callus. The formation of callus was evaluated in two culture mediums (MS and Nitsch,...
Influence of growth regulators and physical state of the culture medium on the in vitro multiplication of Colocasia esculenta clone 'INIVIT MC2001'
To achieve adequate results in the in vitro multiplication of taro cultivars is required to standardize the culture conditions. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of growth regulators and physical stat...
In vitro propagation of the Cuban variety of rice Jucarito-104
In vitro propagation is an efficient method of propagating disease-free, genetically uniform and massive amounts of in vitro plants, irrespective of the year season. This study was carried to develop a micropropagation...
Determination of the minimal inhibitory concentration of Geneticin G418 in the callus formation process of Digitalis purpurea L.
Digitalis purpurea L. produces cardiatonic glycosides such as digoxin and digitoxin, which are widely used for congestive heart failure. Genomic studies in this specie are limited because there is not an efficient genet...
Antioxidant enzymes preserving coffee quality in refrigerate environment
Post-harvest phases may cause biochemical and physiological changes with direct effects on coffee (Coffea sp.) grains quality during its storage. The aim of this study was to determine the relevance of antioxidant isoe...
