Abstract
Urban Certification gives hope for improvement of the quality of functional and formal urban and rural space. This may mean that the formula it proposes, is a chance for the spatial development of the areas in line with principles of spatial order and as a continu-ation of the identity and traditions of the place. City of Iława is an interesting field of rese-arch to verify the certification mechanisms in the medium urban scale.
