Journal Title: Мова - Year 2014, Vol 0, Issue 21
Abstract
The author of the paper presents the possibilities of using the Internet as a means of acquiring knowledge and of teaching, as well as a source of the real language communication in the process of auditorial or extraauditorial work with Polish students of Russian philology. Nowadays, usage of the Internet resources in teaching and learning of a foreign language has become a widely acclaimed standard all over the world. Thanks to the Internet, printed, audio and multimedia materials, which enrich the didactic process and make it more interesting and innovative, have become available for both lecturers and students. The Internet has become a complementary source of teaching, and it can partially replace a handbook. It is worth noticing that a user of the Internet may encounter various information. That is why, not only self-searching and finding the information is important in the process of teaching but methods of working with this information, as well. It means that usage of the resources of the Internet in foreign language teaching requires the application of contemporary problem solving methods like e. g. discussion, project methods, small group work, methods of creating secondary texts. The author of the paper also indicates that electronic mail, chat-communication, forums, blogs and others open up new possibilities of language communication in the natural language environment. Electronic communication may become effective language exercise. However, according to the observations of the author of the paper, not all kinds of electronic communication may turn out to be fully useful in the process of mastering the skill of using colloquial Russian speech.
