Journal Title: Medycyna Sportowa - Year 2017, Vol 33, Issue 1

Abstract

Introduction. Comprehensive rehabilitation implies the need for comprehensive impact on a person undergoing rehabilitation. Increasingly, in the process of rehabilitation of stroke patients used of biofeedback.Aim of the study. The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of training with a biofeedback on the stability platform MTD Control on the symmetry of loading of the lower limbs in patients after stroke, in which it was carried out comprehensive rehabilitation.Material and methods. The study enrolled 30 people after stroke with hemiparesis. All patients underwent comprehensive rehabilitation in the Wroclaw Centre for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, where they stayed at three weeks. Patients were randomly assigned to two groups: test and control. Patients in the treatment group also used exercises with biofeedback on the stability platform. For an objective assessment of the changes applied an objective measurement: a platform posturographic MTD Control. The results were subjected to statistical analysis.Results. As a result of the applied therapy, patients in the treatment group achieved a statistically significant improvement in the Symmetry Index, patients in the control group also received improvements, which, however, turned out to be statistically insignificant. According to the indicators Fmax and Fmin also observed statistically significant differences in the evaluation of certain parameters.Conclusions. Training Biofeedback on the stability platform MTD Control can be used as an additional method of improving people after stroke.
