USING 3D TERRAIN RELIEF MODELS IN THE DESIGN OF MODERN EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SYSTEM

Abstract

Purpose. To show the possibility and feasibility of using a 3D terrain relief model, designed with the help of a new Surfer of Golden Software product, in designing the modern system of erosion control measures. Methodology. We have used theoretical methods of research, namely the analysis of professional and special methodological literature on an investigated problem. A systematic approach and logical methods allowed to offer the possibility of using the soft- ware product Surfer to build a 3D model of the terrain. This approach of estimating the location provided the opportuni- ty to create a complex anti-erosion measures for the studied territory. Results. Mapping model of an erosion dangerous areas has been received. Contour-ameliorative area organization of the territory has been proposed. Originality. For the first time, the technique of using of the software Surfer has been proposed for designing erosion control measures on erosion dangerous areas. Practical value. Using the 3D model of the terrain can be performed in combination with ge- omorphologic, soil, land use and other research, adequate assessment of the erosion dangerous areas with the future organization of the territory.
