Val Plumwood and Animist Materialism
Journal Title: ViraVerita: Peer-reviewed E-Journal of Interdisciplinary Encounters - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue
Abstract
Val Plumwood, who is known by Feminism and the Mastery of Nature, is an important name of ecofeminism. She focused on hyper-separations that are in the core ecological problems in her early writings, and then developed her approach of animist materialism through concepts such as “spirituality”, “death” and “place”. In that context, the aim of this article is to point out Val Plumwood’s critics and suggestions on ecological problems with reference to the works of Plumwood, which were published after Feminism and the Mastery of Nature until 2009.
