VIRTUAL CURRENCIES FUNCTIONING AND THEIR ROLE IN THE GLOBAL MONETARY-FINANCIAL SYSTEM

Abstract
The article deals with cryptocurrencies and the peculiarities of their functioning on a global scale. The characteristic features of different content of virtual currencies are considered and the main differences between them are revealed. In addition, virtual currencies are classified according to the types and areas of their operation. It is established that virtual currencies are distributed as alternative means of payment within certain communities. The influence of virtual currencies on the world monetary and financial market is analyzed.
