VISIONS OF BIOLOGY STUDENTS ON ANIMAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICAL ISSUES

Abstract
Biology is a vital area for discussing environmental and animal issues in modern society, although in its graduation there are no spaces for reflection. In the research were conducted semi-structured interviews with undergraduate students in Biology so that they could speak openly about ethical issues that they considered problematic within their course especially in the areas of animal and environmental issues. Their speeches were analyzed following the Functioning’s Approach to observe compromised functonings and look for ways to stimulate them. Atthe end we can see a high number of discussions raised by the students. Within the animal question there is the problematic question of animal experimentation and didactic use of animals within the university. Already in the environmental issue the students stand out the identity of the professional biologist strongly related to the theme and the very concept of preserving. Ways to reconnect Bioethics and stimulate spaces for reflection are vital for creating professionals who are properly prepared to dealwith the current demands of the biologist's actions, both in knowledge and in ethics.
