Abstract
This article starts from the understanding of the role of vision and hearing as primary senses that allow human beings to transcend the physical limits of their own body to interact with the surrounding world and, consequently, the repercussions that are They derive from a certain alteration in the structure and functioningof the organs of vision and hearing, respectively. Based on the results of the bibliographic review carried out and the reflections derived from the authors' experience in this field, the reasons that determine the diversity that, as an inherent characteristic of any human group, are also manifested in the population are outlined. with visual and hearing disabilities, an issue that is essential to consider in the design and adjustment of the educational and social response to their needs, taking into account the guidelines suggested in the text presented
