WILDLIFE SIGHTING BEFORE SOCIAL IMMOBILIZATION DUE TO COVID-19

Journal Title: Innova Biology Sciences - Year 2021, Vol 1, Issue 1

Abstract

2020 was a difficult year for the world, as the existence of a new virus was known that caused not only breakdowns in the global economy, but also deaths, for which a pandemic was declared. Such an event resulted in extreme confinement measures, as well as social isolation and biosafety protocols adopted by almost all countries. This situation modified people's customary agendas, among other activities that were systematically replaced by others. This change gave rise to many species of animals, especially those that were isolated, crossing borders and walking the streets that were commonly trodden by human beings. Undoubtedly, this panorama was surprising, as well as unprecedented, since many species were seen in spaces that did not correspond to their habitat as a result of various human activities. However, these sightings can also cause drastic effects due to interaction processes, such as zoonosis, which can affect the balance and health not only of humans but of other species.
