Worldview potential of mathematics.

Abstract

The changes taking place in the world community over the past decade are reflected in the educational sphere. One steady trend - the humanization and humanitarization of education, the purpose of which - educate complete personality in every learner who has a stable worldview. One of the major challenges facing the pedagogical science is formation of the student's worldview, using means of mathematical training. View of mathematics' nature is being fundamentally changed nowadays. It makes sense to talk about "Mathematical images" similarly to the art images as a specific form of mathematics for the reflection of reality. Mathematical discoveries reveal previously unknown properties of the models of the world, and the most revolutionary discoveries give rise to new models. This understanding of mathematics' nature as originating from a person makes it possible, especially now, to recognize its humanitarian science and consider it as a special cultural facet. This is one of the most important trends in contemporary period of mathematics - it promotes the addition to the presentation of the person about himself and about the world "ideologically-sounding ideas". Obviously, not the last role in this case plays the need to organize the process of formation of worldview from school years. This requires the student to have to deal with specific learning objects, in the process of working on that just would be formed worldview qualities. Mathematics as a cultural phenomenon, gives developing personality kind of material: mathematical language, mathematical definitions and concepts, mathematical models, methods, rules of evidence and reasoning, geometric shapes, algorithms. This is the conceptual problem: how, to form pu-pils' worldview, teaching mathematical basics of the profession? In our opinion it is necessary to understand theoretically and to study practically the generalized problem: to determine the ideological qualities and guidelines agreed upon with the mathematical culture which are appropriate and possible to generate in students by means of mathematical education; develop and theoretically justify these means.
