Abstract

introduction and aim of the study. Research on young adults’ quality-of-life are important from the point of view of the public health. An attempt was made to examine satisfaction with life current students who have been brought up in the world of tech, unlimited access to information, and often limited requirements. A broad comparison of the quality-of-life factors among young people studying in three Polish universities. material and methods. The work made use of The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) method to assess global life satisfaction. The investigation involved 238 young adults studying in University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Olsztyn High School and Gdansk University of Technology. results and conclusions. Students differ in terms of their current quality-of-life in relation to sex – women have a lower subjective quality-of-life than men. There were no statistically significant differences in other variables analyzed: life events, coping with stress, age, national origin or place of study. Relatively low quality of students’ life may be the result of social conditions, such as, for example, lack of employment and financial dependence on their parents. Accepting the presumption that quality of life is connected with quality of work, we get a vicious circle: even if dissatisfied students find a job, its quality is not rewarding. Therefore, it is important to search the quality of life conditions for young adults.
