Abstract

The article analyzes the socio-moral and criminal factors that contribute to the spread in society of such a negative phenomenon as prostitution. The proposed organizational, preventive and other measures aimed at minimizing actions related to prostitution. In the theory and practice of criminal law and criminology, scientists distinguish a separate group of criminal acts that violate morality. Among all types of such acts, the most ambiguous and such that is negatively perceived by society is the complex of deviant acts associated with this form of social pathology as prostitution. The purpose of the article is to highlight, on the basis of empirical data, criminological significant features of prostitution as an object of criminal law influence, social prerequisites of criminalization of crimes related to prostitution, features of formation of a modern concept of counteracting this socially negative phenomenon. Socio-preventive activities in the fight against all manifestations of prostitution in a broad sense should be aimed at identifying, eliminating and neutralizing the causes and conditions causing various kinds of negative phenomena, including prostitution. At the present stage, it is necessary to include measures to prevent sexual demoralization and increase sexual literacy among the socio-psychological and cultural measures of preventing prostitution; gradual preparation of minors in the family, preschool institutions, schools for future family life, for them to fulfill the social roles of a husband, wife, mother, father; explaining to adolescents and young people the dangerous consequences of prostitution; the creation of a system for identifying persons prone to deviant behavior and carrying out early medical and pedagogical correction on them. Thus, an effective prophylactic prevention system for prostitution should be aimed at creating a negative attitude towards immoral, asocial, and illegal behavior and at forming a need for a healthy and legal lifestyle. Positive changes in public consciousness are possible under the condition of creating a permanent system of measures of informational, educational, moral and ethical and educational impact.
