Journal Title: Rehabilitacja w Praktyce - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
The most important element of every treatment modality, including a therapy using neurodynamic techniques, is to make a good diagnosis. Determining the cause of the disordered neuromechanics, which will allow to plan an effective therapy, requires a comprehensive examination of a patient. Every examination should consist of a well-taken history, functional test and the assessment of the so called additional testing. In the case of neuromechanical disorders it is also necessary to include a basic neurological examination, a differential diagnostic procedure and neurodynamic tests in the patient assessment. A proper functional diagnosis is the basis for planning an adequate therapeutic procedure aimed at eliminating the causes of symptoms, and not only the symptoms themselves. Only that kind of management will allow to achieve the lasting improvement of the patient condition, which could be called a therapeutic success.
