Abstract
Source materials for history of parliamentary system of Grand Duchy of Lithuania in last three decades of 16th century in the collection of National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg. The objective of the article was to present a review of archival materials preserved in the fonds of the Manuscripts Section of National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg, pertaining to activity of institutions constituting the representative power system in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as well as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1569–1600. These sources open broad possibilities for researching all levels of the Grand Duchy’s parliamentary system. Fonds of National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg contain materials, which reflect the practice of operation of powiat dietines (mostly pre-Sejm), general assembly of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as well as the Grand Sejm of the Commonwealth. Important documents were preserved in St. Petersburg, pertaining to third interregnum in the Commonwealth, in particular sources, which allow a more detailed analysis of political struggle in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania after the double election of 1587.
