Abstract

Oral antiseptics like fluorine, chlorhexidine, and triclosan can be found in oral products like toothpastes, mouthwashes, etc. They are a great treatment alternative to combat the development of oral diseases due to their antiseptic, antibiotic, antifungal, astringent and anti-inflammatory activities that favor the remineralization of the hard tissues of the teeth. The use of these oral antiseptics was determined by identifying their biochemical mode of action and the dose of use suitable for periodontal disease treatments, and in the prevention against dental caries. For the development of this review article, the Google Scholar academic search engine was used and 20 articles were selected having as inclusion criteria: that they were in Spanish, that they have been published for less than 10 years and that they show data on chemical compounds of action microbial. The results indicated the biochemical mode of action of the three oral antiseptics, benefits, contradictions, antimicrobial activity and recommended dose in dental use for children and adults, such as chlorhexidine 0.2 - 0.12% in children and 0.2 - 0.13% in adults.; fluorine in 0.05% in children and 0.05 - 0.2% in adults and triclosan in 0% for children, due to its toxicity and 0.2 - 0.5% in adults. Considering the above, it is of great dental interest to know the use and chemical action of the aforementioned oral antiseptics (chlorhexidine, fluorine and triclosan) because in this way the correct dose will be prescribed to the patient without affecting either his general health or health oral

Abstract

The study of the rocks in the Chao valley near Mochica archaeological spaces allowed characterizing the chemical composition that is part of the sample. The objective of the work is to identify the mineral characteristics of the rocks collected in the field that allow having information about their composition. Preliminary results were determined through a non-experimental study of the descriptive type, establishing important prevalence rates of iron (fe) in the materials, there is evidence that shows low presence of anemia in your bones. Over time, the disease can leave serious consequences in the body that is reflected in school performance, reduced mobility, etc., in this sense, our research aims to provide solutions through the past

Abstract

Currently we have many articles and bibliographies that refer to malocclusions, however they do not take into account vertical malocclusions, much less the Peruvian population of the north eastern region. This research work presents the vertical malocclusions of the 5 different health careers, who are the ones who later encounter this pathology and need to know both its frequency and the implications that it entails. The objective was to determine the most frequent vertical malocclusions in the students of the health careers of the Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza National University of Amazonas (UNTRM) in 2018. The research was carried out following the quantitative, descriptive, and observational parameters according to the researcher intervention, prospective according to data collection planning, cross-sectional because the number of times it was measured occurred in a single opportunity and because a single variable was observed, it was univariate analysis. The population consisted of 657 enrolled students belonging to the professional careers of nursing, medicine, stomatology, psychology and medical technology in its two specialties (radiology and physical therapy and rehabilitation), with a sample of 242 students, obtained through stratified sampling with proportional allocation. In order to carry out the information collection, a card prepared for the present investigation was used as an instrument, with the informed consent of all the participants, taking the normal occlusion, open bite, deep bite and edge-to-edge bite as dimensions. The results obtained indicate that 61.2% present normal occlusion, 36.8% edge-to-edge bite, 1.2% deep bite and 0.8% anterior open bite. The greatest number of vertical alterations occurred in the Professional Nursing School (49.4%) and they are equally frequent in both the female and the male sex. It was concluded that the students are mainly within the normal ranges with a high percentage of edge to edge bite.

Abstract

Objective: To determine the malocclusions in secondary level students in the city of Leymebamba, during 2019. Material and methods: 503 secondary level students from the “San Agustín” Educational Institution were evaluated. Quantitative, descriptive, observational parameters were used methodologically according to the intervention of the researcher, prospective according to the planning of data collection, cross-sectional because the number of occasions on which it was measured occurred in a single opportunity and because a single variable was univariate analysis. To collect data, a data record card prepared for the present investigation was used as an instrument. Results: it was obtained that 41.4% was Class I, followed by Class III in 35.8%. According to their ages, they presented higher percentages of Class III at the ages of 12, 13 and 19 years, with 55%, 44.3% and 60% respectively. The ages of 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 presented mainly Class I malocclusion in 44.3%, 50%, 44.9%, 52.4% and 42.8% respectively. Finally, according to gender, we found that schoolchildren from 1st to 5th grade of men had a prevalence of Class III with 44%, and in women Class I predominated in 47.4%. Conclusion: Leymebamba secondary school students present mainly Class I Angle malocclusion, but a large percentage have Class III.

Abstract

In bone regeneration of post-exodontic dental alveoli, a literature review was conducted on PRP, according to the scientific evidence available in the literature. The information search was done in the databases of Medline / PubMed, Wiley Online Library, OVID, EBSCO, ScienceDirect and Nature.com. It was found that as a result of an autogenous preparation made just before the surgical procedure, the PRP reduces the risk of transmission of infectious and contagious diseases when compared to other products, It is concluded that the PRP represents an advance in bone grafting techniques, since it offers access to growth factors with a simple and available technology; These growth factors are autologous, non-toxic and non-immunogenic; improves and accelerates normal bone regeneration pathways.

Abstract

The side effects in orthodontic treatment have become the main concern on the part of the orthodontist, since during the treatment we find different unwanted effects, being essential to have knowledge about them for their respective treatment and / or prevention, thus opt for a viable treatment plan for the patient. The objective of this study was to describe the different side effects that may occur during and after an orthodontic treatment. A bibliographic review of a narrative type was carried out. A search was made of the publications made in PubMed, Scielo and Ebsco in the last 10 years related to the subject, applying the inclusion criteria 28 articles were found. According to the researches reviewed, there are several factors and variables that intervene in the appearance of the different unwanted effects in the orthodontic treatment, where we find the root resorption with greater prevalence and in a lower prevalence the gingival recessions, we also find pain as another side effect and finally to the aesthetic effects manifested through white spots.

Abstract

The present research work has as main objective to compare the methods for the management of the behavior of children in dental care, taking as reference the scientific evidence available in the literature. This study is narrative. The investigation of this information was based on data from PubMed / Medline, EBSCO, Scielo and google scholar, found in the most recognized scientific journals at international level. According to the results obtained, 30 articles were found in total, which met the selection criteria of our study where 13 referred to the distraction, 8 that described the behavior, 9 articles were related to the child's anxiety. It is concluded that the audiovisual distraction allows the child to be distracted, both auditory and visual, from the dental environment, with which the levels of anxiety in the child are significantly minimized at the time of the procedure, allowing to reduce the time during the treatment process and therefore an acceptance of the treatment on the part of the child taking advantage that the infants of the 21st century live a world of fantasy, game and technology.
