A EXPERIÊNCIA DE SER NEGRO NO AMBIENTE ESCOLAR

Abstract

This study aimed to comprehend the experience of being black in the school environment from the perspective of Young and Adults Education students, which study in a municipal public school, in Pelotas, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Given the proposed objective, the methodological choice was accomplished by means of the qualitative approach and by the hermeneutic phenomenological method. The inputs were collected through depth interview performed with two participants. This type of interview provides the accomplishment of a three interview series: the first had as its focus the life trajectory of the students; the second one led the participants to rebuilt details of their experiences in the context; and in the third phase, the students were invited to reflect about the meanings of their experiences. The analysis of the inputs was performed seeking the meaning unities in the narratives that conducted to the phenomenological theme. As a phenomenological theme that expressed the essence of the lived experience of the subjects, the lenient exclusion occurred inside the school, emerged.
