Abnormal spectrum analysis of ophthalmological elimination in medical selection of students in teenagers aviation schools in Hebei Province

Abstract

Objective To explore the characteristics and regional differences of the abnormal spectrum of ophthalmological elimination in medical selection of students in teenagers aviation schools in Hebei Province, in order to summarize experience and provide helpful information for formulating initial selection programs and setting initial selection standards scientifically. Methods All the data of ophthalmological medical selection in Hubei Province from 2019 to 2020 was exported through the medical selection system for students in teenagers aviation schools. The unqualified abnormal items were classified and sorted out. The disqualification rate, percentage composition and regional differences were analyzed by Chi-square test and Pareto diagram. Results The disqualification rate of ophthalmology in medical selection of students in teenagers aviation schools in Hebei Province was 53. 39% . The disqualification rate in Hengshui, Xingtai, Handan and Langfang was higher than the average level of Hebei Province. Shijiazhuang, Handan, Baoding and Xingtai ranked the top four according to the percentage composition of disqualification rate and the number of students who participated in the ophthalmological examination. There was no significant difference in the disqualification rate and its percentage compositionamong the cities of Hebei Province (P > 0. 05), and there was no significant difference in the distribution of unqualified items among the cities of Hebei Province ( P > 0. 05 ) . Pareto diagram showed that the main factors of elimination were distant vision limitation, excess refraction, congenital lens opacity and concomitant exotropia (distant vision and eye position examination were initial selection items). Conclusion Formulating initial selection standards scientifically, optimizing the methods of eye position examination in initial selection, and increasing the convenient measurement equipment ( such as autorefraction and ophthalmoscope ) can improve the qualification rate of final selection and work efficiency of initial selection.
