ABOUT AKHMATOVA’S MISUNDERSTOOD VERSES

Abstract
Anna Akhmatova believed there must be a «mystery» in every truly artistic work, meaning the idea not lying exteriorly. The external simplicity of her poetic speech is deceptive. It can be misleading even for talented literary critics. In the article this is proved on two examples from the socio-political and love lyr-ics. Researchers of the Akhmatova’s work usually do not notice that in the poem «Ne s temi ya kto brosil zemlu… / I’m not with those who left the Earth ...» the author does not treat different emigrant catego-ries equally: she condemns those who left their own country voluntarily, and sympathizes with those who are expelled by force. But like-minded people who stayed at home were the most respected for Akhmatova. The poem «Szhala ruki pod temnoy vual’yu / I clenched my hands under the dark veil ...» is often mistak-enly commented by the researchers. Its character is represented as a negative character, who indifferent to the painful experiences of the heroine. In fact, she suffers from her own guilt over him, and he be-haves courageously, with dignity. Akhmatova’s poem is compared to N. Gumilev’s poem «Poisoned» in the article. He was the prototype of his hero. Gumilev turned the situation of this work in his own way, providing an original poetic answer to the work.
