ACTIVITY OF MYKOLA LEONTOVICH IN THE AREA OF PROFESSIONAL OF CHORAL LIFE OF VINNITSA REGION AT THE BEGINNING OF ХХ CENTURY

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the influence of vocal and choral work, composer and concert activity of M. D. Leontovich on the formation of the professional choral music of Vinnitsa region at the beginning of the twen- tieth century. The author of the article systematizes and analyzes the types of professional activity of M. Leontovich indifferent periods of his stay in Vinnitsa region and determines its influence on the general development of the choral creativity of the region. As a result of the analysis of various aspects of the professional activities of the composer, the formation of the musical and pedagogical experience of M. Leontovich himself was revealed. The article focuses on those activities of the composer, which influenced the formation of a professional musical and choral progression in Vinnitsa region. It highlights the key aspects of conducting activity during studying in Kamyanets-Podilskyi, works as a teacher at the school from Chukov, the spiritual school of the city of Tyvrov, as a music teacher at the Vinnytsia Parish School, the Tulchin Diocesan School and works with the Tulchin Choir Chapel, which exists to this day. The article is based on the materials contained in the funds of the State Archives of Vinnytsia region, the memoirs of R. Kolosovich and M. Kilchevskaya, the students of M. Leontovich, about the course of music lessons in the Tulchin Dioces an School, which were not included in the printed publications. The author of the article observes the creative relations of the composer with Y. Bogdanov, K. Stetsenko and P. Tichina in the context of their influence on the professional formation and development of M. Leontovich. The influence of Ukrainian, in particular Podilly a folklore, on the development of the composer’s creative style is noted. The processing of folk songs included in the collections “The first collection of songs from Podillya”, “The second collection of songs from Podillya”, which was written by the composer, is being systematized in Vinnitsa region. The author analyzes the creative method of M. Leontovich with the Tulchin diocesan school, as well as the Tulchin Choir created by him. The choir’s repertoire, the main factors of its selection, are analyzed, as an example of memories from member of the choir. An example is analyzed work of M. Leontovich with the choir of the Tulchin diocesan school, as well as the Tulchin Choir created by him. The basics of rehearsal process are studied. The role of the composer’s creative activity informing the professional principles of choral music in the region is determined. The thesis is based on the fact that M. Leontovich is laying the foundations for modern vocal, choral and concert work in Vinnitsa region.
