ACTUALIZATION OF PROFESSIONAL REFLECTION IN TRAINING FUTURE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLERS

Abstract

The article deals with one of the pedagogical conditions for development of air traffic controllers’ professional reflec- tion in professional training. The essence of notion “actualization” is revealed from the point of view of philosophers, psychologists and teachers. It’s determined the aim of actualization of professional reflection in training future air traffic controllers. It’s underlined that actualization of professional reflection involves aspiration of a student’s personality; con- tent of his “I” image (personal and professional); his own professional position. It’s proved the importance of this peda- gogical condition for development of professional thinking and understanding of further professional growth. It’s empha- sized that actualization of professional reflection will become an important element of air traffic controllers’ professional training, under condition, that it will be motivated by satisfying the needs, interests, values, which do not contradict stat- ute activity, but extend beyond the limits and volume of what is provided by the flight academy, where the student studies. This condition is necessary for the student in order to realize the perspective of his future profession, close connection of acquired during the training in the flight academy reflective knowledge and professional skills with the air traffic controller’s successful professional performance. Introduction of this pedagogical condition into air traffic controllers’ professional training will give the opportunity to inspire the students to be conscious of importance of acquiring profes- sional reflection in the future professional activity. Summing up the researchers’ thoughts, actualization of professional reflection is considered as the internal focus of the future specialists, i.e. their prior aspiration, conscious orientation on professional reflection, aimed at doing the future professional activity. It’s theoretically proved in this article, that actualization of professional reflection will favor the consistency of future professionals’ behavior in different situations, internal organization and orderliness, coherence and stability of the struc- ture of their activity, and also can enable the future controllers to adequately understand the content and the meaning of the chosen career, to improve the efficiency of self-development. All this will inspire the student to achieve high level of professional reflection in professional training.
