PREPARATION OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS TO PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES: CHANGING PRIORITY VALUES

Abstract

The article contains sociological and psychological-pedagogical literature on the research problem. The content of the category «value orientations» is disclosed and refined; the theoretical and methodological approaches to the solution of the problem under investigation are analysed, the problems of the formation of value orientations in future primary school teachers are examined. The results of the study of value orientations for future primary school teachers are presented. The professional training for future primary school teachers as a independent phenomenon with its specific characteristics and features is based on the certain system of values. This connection with the existing values is caused by the culture and the upbringing of children. However, it should be noted, that the basics of teachers’ training in realization their educative function in society are most shaken. This is due to rapid changes in the life of the society, the transformation of the old and the emergence of new values, the development of the new social phenomenon. The main conditions of the formation of the system of values of the individual are inclusion of a person into activity and communication. The interaction of social and personal factors makes up the mechanism of social formation of the person acting as an active subject of social relations. In our study the classification of values for M. Rokich was taken as the basis. For diagnostics of individual hierarchies, M. Rokich developed a method that became quite popular – method of direct ranking of values, that is grouped into two lists – terminal and instrumental values.
