Assessment of credit risk and liquidity risk and the relationship between them (Case study: Agriculture Bank branches in East Azerbaijan Province)

Abstract
Introduction: in finance literature, risk can be defined as unexpected events that often change the value of assets or liabilities. This study aimed to assess and examine the relationship between liquidity risk and credit risk in Agriculture Bank of Iran branches in the cities of East Azerbaijan Province. Method: this study is descriptive- applied research and its approach is post event. The data were collected by investigating the financial statements of 21 selected branches of Agriculture Bank. Regression analysis and correlation were used to analyze the data through SPSS21 software. Results: the results showed that there is no significant relationships between CTD and BTDL and LTD and also there is no significant relationship between LTLTLD and BDTL but there is a significant relationship between LTD and LTLTLD and LTA. Conclusion: it seems that bank managers do not have sufficient knowledge of risk factors and also, don’t pay much attention to these issues.
