Assessment of the Influence of Breakage Strength Rocks by Cox Method
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2016, Vol 39, Issue 4
Abstract
Analyzed according to the theory of continuous mechanics, medium rock massif is a natural environment difficult to know, so the forecasts referring to its behaviour are approximate and uncertain. Such an assertion becomes a certitude, even resulting from reality; consequences of the four fundamental features of massif are multiple and involve really difficult issues in mining field and generally, in the constructions field. The concept and the way to assess the stability of underground construction involves understanding its phenomenological evolution and doubtless the character of rocks behaviour in massif. Based on the principle scheme of rocks behaviour way to failure, we propose a statistical analysis method of results obtained by laboratory tests using Cox regression. This method offers the possibility to provide quantitatively and qualitatively the time when the breakage occurs. The method enables us to establish the link between a certain factor through which can forecast rock breakage and the ability to resist; the method can be developed and applied on a massif scale and also in the stability analysis of underground works.

Improvement of Photovoltaic Cells Efficiency by Reducing Contamination in Single Chamber PECVD System by Passivation with a-Si:H and μc-Si:H Thin Films
High performance solar cells, deposited in a single chamber, can be obtained when low levels of contamination exists for the p-,i-,n- layers. This is a recurrent problem not only in the laboratories, but also in the indu...
Influence of pH Galvanic Baths on the Nickel Deposits
The influence of pH on cathodic and anodic current efficiency, surface quality and morphology of nickel deposit in the electrolyte solutions of the Watts bath type was investigated. Cathodic current efficiency of nickel...
Structure Characterization of Ca/Ba, Ca-FeSi Inoculated, Low Sulphur, Electric Melted, Thin Wall Grey Iron Castings
Much of the base iron in grey iron foundries is electrically melted in an acid lined induction furnace. The performance of the induction furnace allows superheating above 1500 oC, which is appropriate for thin wall casti...
Evolutionary Perspectives on Energy Consumption of Raw Materials to Ensure Energy Production in the EU-28
A clear analysis of the electricity production and consumption sector in the EU 28 offers firstly the possibility of knowing the final energy consumption for each segment (industry, households, trade, services and transp...
Synthesis and Characterisation of Ag/SnO2/Clay Nanocomposites with Potential Application as Photocatalysts
This work reported a novel synthesis and characterization of Ag/SnO2/clay nanocomposites. The obtained materials were characterized using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscop...
