Assessment of the Influence of Breakage Strength Rocks by Cox Method
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2016, Vol 39, Issue 4
Abstract
Analyzed according to the theory of continuous mechanics, medium rock massif is a natural environment difficult to know, so the forecasts referring to its behaviour are approximate and uncertain. Such an assertion becomes a certitude, even resulting from reality; consequences of the four fundamental features of massif are multiple and involve really difficult issues in mining field and generally, in the constructions field. The concept and the way to assess the stability of underground construction involves understanding its phenomenological evolution and doubtless the character of rocks behaviour in massif. Based on the principle scheme of rocks behaviour way to failure, we propose a statistical analysis method of results obtained by laboratory tests using Cox regression. This method offers the possibility to provide quantitatively and qualitatively the time when the breakage occurs. The method enables us to establish the link between a certain factor through which can forecast rock breakage and the ability to resist; the method can be developed and applied on a massif scale and also in the stability analysis of underground works.

Basic Mathematical Modeling of the Environmental Processes in the Lower Danube Region [I]
In most environmental pollution problems, the pollutant is released to the environment by the, almost always, turbulent flow of a carrier fluid. The pollutant mixes with the surrounding fluid (air or water) and undergoes...
Analysis of Structural Components Existing in Steel Making Slag Sampled from Steel Making-Continuous Casting Flow Sheet
Hereby paper work aims to identify and analyze the structural constituents from the steel making shop slag. Therefore, slag specimens sampled from different stages of steel making-continuous casting flow sheet in Mittal...

This paper consider finite element analysis for structural analysis of a tank under thermal loadings. Geometric modeling is done in CATIA and for finite element analysis the author used FEA module in Catia. The aim is to...
Effect of an Oxy-Sulphide Inoculant Enhancer on Graphite Parameters in the Mould Inoculated Compacted Graphite Cast Iron
In compacted/vermicular graphite cast iron production, inoculation is applied to limit the formation of carbides, but usually this treatment also promotes nodular graphite with improved nodularity. The main objective of...
