AVALIAÇÃO DOCENTE NA MATEMÁTICA DO ENSINO SUPERIOR: A CONSTRUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO E A PERSPECTIVA DOS DISCENTES

Abstract
The present article presents a reflection on the aspects related to knowledge building, to mathematical knowledge and to the institutional evaluation of teaching practice. The production of knowledge is discussed in view of the possibility of an innovative practice. Mathematics is discussed considering its dichotomy as philosophy or science, going through the importance of its teaching, with emphasis on the Engineering courses and the professional practice of researchers. Finally, a brief analysis of institutional evaluations is made from a report of its origin, importance, application and use in HEIs.
