Capacity enhancement in HDD conical micro-bearings
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2009, Vol 226, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper presents a method of pressure and carrying capacity calculation in slide conical micro-bearing occurring in HDD computer discs. The authors compare they’re own results of pressure and capacity distributions with the results that are obtained G.H. Jang. Considered microbearings have intelligent memory features. G.H. Jang attain memory properties through the nano- grooves on the cylindrical micro-bearing surfaces which implies the whirling motion and whirling flows of the lubricant in the bearing gap. In the presented paper, the proper pressures and capacity distributions and memory effects the of course are obtained by the conical shapes of the journal and sleeve and additionally by the grooves with depth of about 25 nm. Such shapes increase and regulate the pressure and capacity distributions and the effect of whirling motion and therefore increase the bearing memory properties.

INTERACTION BETWEEN THE CREATION OF A WHITE LAYER AND ADHESIVE REACTION IN CASE OF FRICTION OF ALLOY IRON IN HIGH TEMPERATURE
The work characterizes the phenomenon of the formation of the “white layer” on the surface of tools used for the hot forming process of steel. It describes the structural factors of iron alloy tools that favour plastical...
DISSIPATION AND ACCUMULATION OF ENERGY AS FACTORS CONDITIONING STABILITY OF FRICTIONAL COUPLES
Wear and stability of frictional couples are presented as a function of dissipation and accumulation of energy. Such couples are treated as open thermodynamic systems and processes occurring in them are described on the...
Tribologia rzepu syntetycznego
Niniejsza praca przedstawia tribologiczny opis mikrowęzłów tarciowych, o dużej wartość siły tarcia adhezyjnego pomiędzy stykającymi się powierzchniami dwóch elementów. Rzepy syntetyczne są przykładem technicznym węzłów...
FRICTIONAL PROBLEMS IN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION BELT DRIVES
The article describes the results of the research carried out on the evaluation of the influence of friction pairs (rubber belt – belt pulley in belt drive) on the ability to transmit power. In order to determine the cha...
EFFECT OF STRAIGHT-LINE MECHANISM DESIGN ON THE LOAD DISTRIBUTION IN A CYCLOIDAL GEAR
In the cycloidal gear, the torque is transmitted to the planet gears via an eccentric shaft with central bearings mounted on it. A straight-line mechanism is used to output the torque from the planet gears to the output...
