Body height and weight got examined as well as the results of motor fitness tests: standing broad jump, sit-ups from the lying position for 30 s, and the sit and reach test. The values of arithmetic means were compared and the significance of their differences was calculated. Results and conclusions. The girls and boys examined in 2000 are characterised by higher body height and weight when compared to the ones tested in the years 1980 through 1988. In the tests of explosive strength of lower extremities, flexibility and dynamic strength of abdominal muscles lower results were achieved by the examined in 2000. Only in the test of abdominal muscles in younger school age, the contemporary teenagers were better.
