CONCEPTUAL MODEL OF FORMATION OF THE IT-COMPETENCE OF FUTURE DOCTORS AND PHARMACISTS IN THE PROCESS OF TEACHING OF DISCIPLINES WITHIN NATURALLY SCIENTIFIC PREPARATION

Abstract

The development of information technology stipulates the modernization processes in the system of higher medical and pharmaceutical education of Ukraine. In this connection the necessity of formation of the information technology competence (IT-competence) of future doctors and pharmacists grows during their study at medical and pharmaceutical universities. In the research, among general principles of formation of the IT-competence of future specialists we have fo-cused on the principles of professional orientation, valuable relation to information, individualization of teaching, integration and development of information experience, development of personal qualities of the educational pro-cess. According to the research, it could be assumed that efficiency of formation of the IT-competence while teaching future doctors and pharmacists disciplines of naturally scientific preparation at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University rises due to implementation of the elaborated conceptual model into the educational process of this uni-versity. During the construction of this model it has been anticipated that within the limits of the IT-competence of future specialists, search and analytical, information and communication, information and instrumental, information and evaluation, ethical and legal competencies are formed, each of which is characterized by relevant motivational, cognitive, activity and personality criteria. Carrying out the research, we have taken into account that the created conceptual model of formation of the IT-competence of future doctors and pharmacists is characterized by predictive, analytical and constructive, dialogical, developing, corrective and analytical, interactive, organizational and technological functions alongside with maintenance and support functions. Furthermore, we have focused on information, scientific research, social and pedagogical, methodical, individual personality, material and technical elements of the didactic and psychological and pedagogical support, which, in our view, form theoretical and methodological basis of the developed conceptual model of formation of the IT-competence of future specialists. The conceptual model of formation of the IT-competence of future doctors and pharmacists, which has been proposed within the limits of research, consists of 5 units. The conceptually-targeted unit of the model takes into account the purpose, the leading idea, theoretical ap-proaches, tendencies and principles enabling facilitating the formation of the IT-competence of future specialists. The content and activity unit of the model determines the directions of formation of the IT-competence of future doctors and pharmacists while teaching them disciplines of naturally scientific preparation. In addition, it predetermines realization directions of the teaching contents of these disciplines. The system-determination unit of the model defines organizational and psychological factors which influence professional preparation of future specialists in the process of teaching; it also pays attention to the conditions ena-bling the formation of the IT-competence. The operational and technological unit of the model determines technology of formation of the IT-competence of future doctors and pharmacists while teaching them disciplines of naturally scientific preparation. The criterion-diagnostic unit of the model presupposes certain levels of formation of the IT-competence, criteria and instruments of their diagnostics. Conducting the research, we have designated and characterized the low, satisfactory, middle and high levels of formation of the IT-competence of future specialists during the teaching of disciplines of naturally scientific prepa-ration. Further research, in our opinion, must be devoted to the choice of pedagogical tools and development of diagnostic criteria of the levels of formation of the IT-competence that will enable to interpret the research results, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of the offered conceptual model.
