CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AS A CHANCE FOR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL BUSINESSES

Abstract

CSR is one of the most modern and promising business strategies on today’s market. It is mainly large enterprises that are interested in this type of activates, whereas small businesses recognise CSR issues, but don’t necessarily have knowledge of the standards in the area of their implementation. There is thus a need to adapt the principles and instruments of corporate social responsibility to the specificity of the functioning of small businesses, as CSR strategy is their real chance for sustainable development. Therefore, the aim of this paper is an attempt to relate CSR strategy to the sector of small businesses. The theoretical part addresses issues connected with the specificity of CSR and possibility for it to be implemented by small businesses. Further, the paper presents results of empirical studies on the implementation of CSR activities by small businesses, among other things.
