Crossed Cerebellar Diaschisis in Middle Cerebral Artery Infarction
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF MEDICAL COLLEGE CHANDIGARH - Year 2019, Vol 9, Issue 1
Abstract
Crossed cerebellar diaschisis (CCD) is a condition involving deactivation of cerebellar neurons that results from loss of connections to injured cerebral neural tissues distant from cerebellum. Positron emission tomography (PET) studies and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have been used to depict a state of hypometabolism or hypoperfusion in these cerebellar structures remote from the real suratentorial lesion
