Dan Perju (1935 – 2016)

Abstract
Professor Dan Perju was born on 15 December 1935 in Chişinău - Republic of Moldova, as the son of a family of teachers. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute "Traian Vuia" in Timişoara, section Hydraulic Machines (1957-1962), being Head of Promotion. After the graduation of the faculty and until the eternity, Professor Dan Perju has gone through all stages of an exceptional academic career, gaining a national and international academic recognition. His entire teaching and scientific activity was done faithfully within the Department of Machine Design and Mechanisms (OMM) of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Politehnica University of Timişoara (UPT), now the Department of Mechatronics.
