DEVERBATIVES WITH SUFFIX –J(A) IN ART DISCOURSE OF I. FRANKO

Abstract
Semantic basis of creation of verbal nouns, the word-building, semantic and stylistic potentials of lexemes with suffix -ja that have the objectified meaning of action/process and state have been investigated in the given article on the material of poetic, prose and dramatic works. Derivatives of the word-building type on -ja are considered in aspects of creation, semantics, and peculiarities of functioning in the artistic texts. Separated from the context verbal nouns are systematized on the basis of the correlation ofword-building stem and derivative basis. The stylistic possibilities of the substantives as separate elements in the artistic language system from the point of view of functioning and applying are analyzed; their potential in creating Ivan Franko’s unique poetics is found out. The analysis of morphonologically important features and morphonological changings of word stems and affixes linked with them in the process of derivation are analyzed. Derivatives confirm the predominance of complex morpho- nological operations (truncation of thematic suffixes of the verbal stem, truncation of thematic suffixes of the stem in connection with assimilative elongations and various types of alternations, joining the formant to the untruncated stem, linking the formant to the verbal stems with the one-component root) in the derivation process. The question of the development of new lexical meanings of transposing substantives in the context is worth separate detailed researches. The artistic potential of the analyzed derivatives, the consideration of individual meaning, their relations in the context surrounding of other words prove wide possibilities of their stylistic applying. The research of derivatives usage specificity of different functional-stylistic groups in contexts was done. The weakening of semantic ties in the creature pair – the derivative leads to the development of nouns of secondary objective values. In multivalued verbs, the expansion of the semantic structure may relate to several values of the creation. The features of implementation of the semantics of the creature in the lexical meaning of the derivative are traced. Their role in the fuller disclosure of the author’s language, thinking and style features is emphasized. In the long term – the study of the patterns of formation and the specific functioning of verbal derivatives, formed by the suffix -yny, their significance in expressing the author’s individuality in the poetic text.
