Abstract
Статтю присвячено аналізу українського усного мовлення на діахронному рівні, зокрема з’ясуванню вимовних особливостей української мови, зафіксованих у пам’ятках давньо- та староукраїнської літературної мови. Писемні джерела фіксують ті зміни, які відбувалися у мовленні людей і які становлять тепер орфоепічну норму. Історичні корені вимовних норм простежено на основі наукових та власних (Климентій Зіновієв «Вірші. Приповісті посполиті») досліджень.
