DIGITAL TV AND RADIO IN CONTEMPORARY SCHOOL COURSE IN GENERAL PHYSICS

Abstract

The article outlines some approaches to compiling a didactic scheme of statement of digital radio & TV basic principles in school courses on physics. The key concept of ‘phase’ as regards the oscillating process is pointed out, which assumes didactic importance in the context of rendering foundations of digital signal transmission in the above-mentioned courses. Plain examples are used when studying discrete modulations, which allow getting a notion about digital signal transmission. Comprehension of basic principles of modern digital communications, such as modulation, phase, binary values, compression etc., not only fosters widening of a professional-to-be’s outlook, but also provides him/her with an opportunity of better familiarization with new machinery and laboratory equipment, as well as prepares him/her for independent research and experimental scientifi c work. Search for approaches to laying down modern digital communication basics, in particular in the TV and radio realm, is being regarded itself as an important principle of upto-date physics courses composition.
