Abstract

Abstract The United Kingdom's commitment to addressing climate change through offshore wind energy integration is examined in this research. The UK, a pioneer in climate legislation with the Climate Change Act (2008) and a signatory to the Paris Agreement, has set ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions. Offshore wind energy presents a significant opportunity for the UK to meet these targets while fostering economic growth. This paper evaluates the development of offshore wind energy in the UK, its impact on climate policy, and its economic viability. It discusses the effectiveness of offshore wind farms in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy security, and creating jobs. Furthermore, it analyses the economic feasibility of offshore wind projects, considering factors such as cost-effectiveness, energy market dynamics, and policy incentives. The findings suggest that offshore wind energy is a worthy investment for the UK government, offering a reliable and sustainable solution to climate change while contributing to economic development. The study underscores the importance of accelerating the deployment of offshore wind farms to meet climate targets effectively.
