ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF ANAEROBIC BIOREACTORS WITH DIFFERENT TEMPORARY TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS

Abstract

Purpose. To analyze energy efficiency and biogas output from a biogas reactor under the conditions of the 25 oC, 32 oC, 54 oC temperature digestion mode. To estimate energy consumption for biogas plant own needs of heating of fresh substrate and thermostabilization. To determine the feasibility of placing a biogas reactor in the soil. Methodolo-gy. The analysis of the factors influencing the process of digestion of the substrate and biogas output has been carried out. An assessment of the energy efficiency of a biogas reactor takes into account the costs of preliminary heating of fresh raw materials and thermal losses in the environment, which are compensated by isolation and reactor thermal stabilization systems. The main problems to be solved is the determination of the energy losses source from the biogas reactor; analysis of methods for reducing energy consumption for the operation of the reactor; determination of biogas output. Originality. The study divided the fermentation process into periods and investigated the biogas output in each separate period. Comparative data calculation with the data on the operation of real installations has been obtained. The further development of the problem of determining the heat transfer intensity in substrates, which are complicated by the structure of liquids with unknown thermophysical properties, has become further developed. A basis for further research on the location of biogas reactors in the soil was created. Practical value. The obtained data makes it possible to predict the operation of a biogas plant under different temperature conditions of fermentation and different period of fermentation. It is possible to simulate heat losses from a biogas reactor and predict its energy efficiency. Conclusions. When placing a biogas reactor below the freezing point of the soil, the heat loss from it decreases by 24% in the cold period of the year. The studies allowed to reveal the distribution of biogas output during the experimental period and to establish that at a fermentation temperature of 54 oC in the first seven-day digestion period, the rate of biogas output was 77% higher than in all other periods. The 32 °C temperature regime has a gradual reduction of the biogas output during the entire fermentation period. At a temperature of 25 oC, the biogas output decreases by 2-3 times compared with other temperature regimes.
