Journal Title: PEYZAJ - Journal of Education, Science, Culture and Art - Year 2021, Vol 3, Issue 2

Abstract

Ecotourism activities, which are an economic income source for the local people living together with nature, are carried out in areas such as Düzce province where there are untouched natural beauties, forest areas and national parks. Located between the two metropolitan cities as Istanbul and Ankara, Düzce is an advantageous region in terms of tourism. The people of the region evaluate their natural areas, especially the highlands, in terms of local and district economy as well as the national economy. Village houses, bungalow houses, tent camping areas provide accommodation for tourists coming to the region. In addition to tourism activities, village breakfasts, local delicacies and local product sales provide an opportunity for promoting the region. With this study, the role of women entrepreneurs in the ecotourism sector in Düzce and the participation rate of women in ecotourism in the region will be determined and evaluated in terms of female entrepreneur candidates performing their commercial activities using the fields and spaces they own.
