FEATURES OF PUPILS’ PATRIOTIC EDUCATION IN THE EASTERN REGION OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the urgent problem for Ukrainian educational space – features of education of students in the conditions of the Eastern region. A difficult military and political situation, which occurred in the east of Ukraine, has caused the need for educational reform. The purpose of the study is to reveal the nature of some negative stereotypes that prevail in the east of the country and the ways to overcome them during the educational process in educational institutions, to determine the specific system of patriotic education and describe the components of patriotism. Among the features of patriotic education in Eastern Ukraine the author highlights constant negative stereotypes that affect the education process of students. The influence of internal administrative boundaries, cultural contacts, the state of regional identity, symbols and myths and other factors on atmosphere of the territory border has been emphasized. Methodological principles of this research are person-centered and developmental approaches. Thus, developing a system of patriotic education in the conditions of the eastern region should be carried out with the specific socio-cultural conditions of the territory border that will cause to design an innovative system of national patriotic education of students in Eastern Ukraine, which consists of such components as target, content, procedure and results. Therefore, we should develop students’ value attitudes to society and the state in terms of the eastern region of Ukraine; implement the basic principles of territory border Concept of national patriotic education of children and youth; approve and develop some appropriate program, teaching and methodical supports of educational work, taking into account regional peculiarities of this study; use innovative technologies of national patriotic education; control a system of national patriotic education of students in eastern region of Ukraine, in particular the formation of students’ value attitudes to society and our state.
