Formation of the health protecting competence of future biology teacher

Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of forming valeological competence of the future teacher of biology. Student’s health largely depends on valeological culture of the teacher. Eco-valeological culture of future biology teacher is a complex conglomerate of eco-valeological values, knowledge and skills. Studying valeology for students should be based on the knowledge of the basics of anatomy, physiology, human ecology. The results of scientific research indicate that the tendency of the students health deterioration has become stable, and during the period of study at school the number of chronic diseases in children increases by 1,5-2 times. Significant rejuvenation of "diseases of the elderly" was noted. The purpose of the article is to analyze scientific approaches to the problem of formation of healthcare-saving competencies in future teachers of biology and their application in professional activities. Formation of a responsible attitude towards the health of students largely depends on the valeological culture of the teacher. The valeological competence of the future teacher of biology is a determining factor that enables students to develop valeological knowledge and skills, the ability and desire to organize a healthy lifestyle, control the state of health, create a health-caring environment.
