THE WORLD ETHOS - THE BASIS OF THE WORLDGROUND

Abstract
Den Kern des Weltethos, des gemeinsamen Ethos der Menschheit, macht das Ursprungsethos aus. Viel älter als die Formulierung der allgemeinen Menschenrechte ist die Formulierung der allgemeinen Menschenpflichte. Die Epoche, in der sich heutige Welt befindet, erfordert aber ihr eigenes Ethos. Das Weltethos meint nicht primär die Weltethik - im Sinne einer bestimmten philosophischen, oder theologischen Lehre über das moralische Verhalten, über die Werte und Normen -, es bedeutet zuerst vielmehr das moralische Grundverhalten des Menschen, ob im individuellen oder kollektiven Sinne. Auch die Entstehung, die Existenz und der Gebrauch des Rechts setzt das Ethos voraus. Das Weltethos steht auf zwei Grundprinzipien: 1. Mit jedem Menschen soll menschlich umgegangen werden. 2. Das, was die anderen uns tun sollen, müssen auch wir den anderen tun. Der Hinduismus bereicherte das Weltethos im Sinne des moralischen Verhaltens (nicht im Sinne des ethischen Systems). Der Konfuzianismus der chinesischen Religion bedeutet Bereicherung durch die Entdeckung des Wertes des Menschen. Buddhismus bedeutet ganz spezifischen Beitrag zum Weltethos durch seine Betonung des Einzelnen. Der Judaismus könnte dem Weltethos die Zehn Gebote anzubieten. Das Christentum könnte die Unterstützung, aber auch die Kritik der Moderne sein. Dem Islam eröffnet sich im Koran ein ganz innerer Zugang zu den Menschenrechten, und das könnte sein Beitrag zum Weltethos zu sein.
