Formulation development and evaluation of immediate release tablets of Rasagiline Mesylate
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 1
Abstract
The aim of this investigation was to develop and evaluate immediate release drug delivery system for Rasagiline Mesylate and comparing with marketed product. Immediate released based tablets formulated using different concentrations of different grades of Mannitol, Polyvinyl pyrrolidine, Croscarmellose sodium, sodium starch glycolate, cros povidone, talc, magnesium sterate were used to develop nine formulations (F1 – F9) using direct compression & wet granulation methods and were subjected to physicochemical and in vitro dissolution studies by comparing with marketed product. The net content of Rasagiline Mesylate was 1.56mg and the total tablet weight was 100mg. Excipients used in the formulation reduces the cost, which are available at lower price in market. As the excipients used are mostly available and cheaper at cost. The study includes development of the robust and stable product, which complies with the marketed product.
