FREEBSD Analysis and Comparison with other Operating Systems

Abstract

The main purpose of this work is to analyze FreeBSD operating system, its origin, structure and especially kernel, to provide aspects of FreeBSD implementation, advantages, properties and usage possibilities. During this work we compared FreeBSD with the other popular operating systems by specific criteria, provided results of analysis and further recommendations. This analysis is significant, because FreeBSD operating system is one of the most secure and stable systems, it is still not well known and used, especially in Lithuania. So it is important to educate people, provide them system‘s advantages, prepare more literature regarding FreeBSD operating system
