FUNDAMENTALS OF CONSTRUCTION OF EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL EXPLOSION-PROOF PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY

Abstract

Purpose. To establish hazard criteria in the production of explosive materials, to identify directions and ways to improve labour safety in the manufacture of explosives and their initiating means, as well as perspective types of explosive materials that can improve labour safety during their production. Methodology. The method of mathematical analysis, based on the theory of probability, was applied in the work as well as the method of criterial equations. Results. The problems associated with the assessment of the safety of technological process for the production of explosive materials are considered. It is shown that the safety assessment of the technological process is based on a comparison of the level of explosive properties of the processed material, that is, the determination of the conditions for achieving the critical parameters of the impacts leading to the initial foci of ignition and the development of explosive processes, and at the same time the level of exposure to explosive materials and initiating means produced in process of its processing. It is investigated that during an emergency explosion energy is expended not only on the ejection of soil, but also on the deformation of equipment, buildings, foundations, etc. Thus, applying the formulas given in the article, it is possible, on the one hand, to place buildings and structures rationally, to provide sufficient personnel protection, and on the other hand, to make a correct assessment of the explosion power and its consequences in the event of an accident with the explosives. Originality. The category of dangerous technological processes is considered, and it is proved that the criteria of destruction by an air shock wave in explosions of explosive materials depends on the pressure in the front of the shock wave. It is substantiated that the decrease in the intensity of the damaging factors and the narrowing of their zone of action can be ensured by using both active and passive buildings. It has been proved that a decrease in the detonation velocity of explosive materials, as a rule, increases the safety of the technological process. Practical value. The requirements for the planning of explosives production have been given. Сonclusions. Conclusions are drawn regarding the prospects of using low-speed emulsion explosives of local preparation.
